Saint Andrew the Apostle Orthodox Church

WE ARE NOW OPEN!

We Miss You! Click here for an update on recent happenings.

WELCOME HOME!

We are now opening church services, with signups made available as the schedule unfolds. In order to maintain social distancing, the number of attendees at each service will be limited and attendees will need to sign up in advance. We will be using Signup Genius, an online service, to facilitate the process.

Please scroll down to see the NEW signup guidelines below!

As we schedule the services that will be open, we will provide a link to the signup website and instructions for signing up.

Here is the link to sign up for services February 24-28:
www.signupgenius.com/go/508094EA4A928ABF58-services37

(If this link has not been updated for the new week, please go to signupgenius.com and search using the church email, standrewlewes@gmail.com.)

See detailed signup instructions below.

Remember that attendance is still limited at this time, in accordance with state and hierarchical guidelines for appropriate social distancing. If the slots fill up before you are able to sign up, please be patient and sign up at the next opportunity. (Watch for our signup email each Monday or Tuesday!)  If you have any questions, please contact Fr. Herman or Kh. Vera.

If you have any difficulty with the website or do not wish to use the website, please contact Kh. Vera to sign up.
A link to the service text is provided on the signup page.

Please note:
  • If you have a fever or other symptoms common to COVID-19, you may not attend. Please see a medical professional to be tested for the virus, and call Fr. Herman for prayer, anointing, and communion.
  • In keeping with the advice of the medical community, if you are age 65 or over, or if you have an underlying condition that increases your risk of contracting COVID-19, we encourage you to strongly consider your own health condition to decide whether to stay home.
  • If you are uncomfortable with attending church at this point, please follow your own conscience. Also, if you would like to have Confession and receive communion at the church by appointment, please contact Fr. Herman.
  • Please bring your own mask as they will be required at all times when in the Church.  The Church will supply a mask upon arrival to anyone who may have forgotten to bring one.
  • We are not at this time kissing the icons, the chalice, or the priest’s hand, but reverencing Christ in our hearts.
  • The pews have been marked for seating. Please follow the directions of the ushers.
  • All service books and other materials have been removed from the pews. For services other than the Divine Liturgy, the appropriate text will be provided either by internet link or as an email attachment. For the Divine Liturgy, please bring your own liturgy book if you use one.
  • Offering trays will not be passed during services.  A Stewardship and Offering ‘Drop Off’ sign and basket have been placed in the main foyer for this purpose.
  • No hugging, handshakes, or kissing should occur, for your own safety and that of others.
  • After each service we will be cleaning and disinfecting the Church.

We look forward to seeing you back in church at St. Andrew's!

Here are the steps to sign up to attend services:

NEW! We are making an adjustment in how we sign up for services and count our attendees.  Since couples and families will sit together, we should be thinking in terms of “units” instead of individuals.

The arrangement of our seating allows for up to three individuals to be considered one seating unit, so when you sign up, please choose your quantity as follows:

  • 1-3 people = 1 unit (If you have 2 small children with 2 adults, you may be 1 unit; please consider your own situation)
  • 4-6 people = 2 units
  • 7-9 people = 2 units, if you will all sit in  a single pew; otherwise you are 3 units.
  • Etc.

Many of you have already attended and know the extent of the seating available; please be realistic when choosing your seating quantity. This will allow us to receive more accurately the highest number of faithful while still maintaining safe distancing.

A few more notes:

  • Please be sure to sign up. If you are not comfortable with computer and internet use, please call Fr. Herman or Kh. Vera and we will sign you up.
  • Please note that there is seating available in the front. We want to use all space available to us.

Signup Procedure:
  • The link to sign up for the upcoming services is emailed to our group list on Monday or Tuesday. (Contact us if you'd like to be added to the list.)
  • Click on the link in the email or on this page; this will bring you to the signup page.
  • Scroll down until you see the table with the upcoming services listed.
  • Find the service(s) you want to attend, and click the little box to the right where it says Sign Up. You can click more than one.
  • Now click the Submit and Sign Up button at the bottom of the page (it's on a bar that stayed right there as you scrolled)
  • On the next page, you may change the quantity of seating units (see above for guidance). Fill in your name, email address, and phone number, then click Sign Up Now.

You can also search for our signups by going to www.signupgenius.com and searching with the church email address (standrewlewes@gmail.com).

If you have any trouble, you can email us at standrewlewes@gmail.com or call Kh. Vera for assistance.
