On August 23-25, 2019, we welcomed His Grace, Bishop Thomas of the Diocese of Oakland, Charleston, and the Mid-Atlantic.
We had a very full weekend as we welcomed our Bp. Thomas of the Diocese of Oakland, Charleston, and the Mid-Atlantic. Bp. Thomas met with the Parish Council on Friday evening, with the Men's Fellowship on Saturday morning, and with the Women of St. Andrew's on Saturday afternoon, in addition to the full cycle of services (Vespers, Orthros, Liturgy). Also joining us for the Divine Liturgy were Fr. John Monto of the Eastern Shore Mission in Easton, MD; Fr. Joseph Oleynick, retired priest of the OCA; and Protodeacon Anthony Kruge. Our own faithful Tom Szlachtianchyn was ordained as a subdeacon. Following the Divine Liturgy we celebrated a Memorial (3 years) for our founding pastor, Archpriest Boniface Black, and Bp. Thomas blessed our 3 newest icons (St. Ignatius of Antioch, St. Moses the Ethiopian, Greatmartyr Irene). Thanks be to God for the blessing of our Bishop, and for the love and hospitality of our community of faith!
