Prayers

Prayer Before the icon of Christ (Tone 2):
We reverence your spotless icon, O gracious Lord, and ask forgiveness of our transgressions, O Christ our God: for of your own good will you were pleased to ascend the Cross in the flesh, that you might deliver from bondage to the enemy those whom you had fashioned. Wherefore, we cry aloud unto You: You have filled all things with joy, O our Savior, for You did come to save the world.

Prayer Before the icon of the Theotokos:
Since you are a well-spring of tenderness, O Theotokos, make us worthy of compassion; look upon a sinful people. Manifest your power as ever, for hoping on you we cry aloud unto you: Hail! as once did Gabriel, chief Captain of the Bodiless Powers.

Troparion of Saint Andrew  - November 30th  (Tone 4):
As the first-called Apostle and brother of their leader, O Andrew; intercede with the Master of all to grant peace to the world, and to our souls great mercy.

Troparion of the Forerunner (Tone 2):
The memory of the just is mentioned with praise. As for you, O Forerunner, the Lord's witness is enough: indeed, you were greater than the prophets since you were found worthy to baptize in the waters the one they could but announce. You have fought for the sake of truth and proclaimed to those in hades that God who appeared in the flesh has taken away the sins of the world and bestowed his great mercy upon us.
